ENGAGING THOUGHTS...
From the editor's desk
Labor Day, the unofficial end of summer. As children head back to school and summer fades into autumn, new trends in fashion and design emerge. Weddings are at the forefront of those trends. Designers like Reem Acra are adding sheer long sleeved gowns departing from the decade long monopoly in strapless gowns. And musical entertainment vendors are consistently being asked to arrange original or semi-original songs for the first dance. The trends only begin there.
Modern wedding trends have also created an extension of the traditional wedding season. Although traditional wedding season lies firmly within the summer season, more and more brides are choosing fall weddings and incorporating the season's best in their special day. Fall weddings can take advantage of the season's rich colors; gold, rust, brown, burgundy, cream and orange. Use these colors generously throughout the theme of the wedding, from logo branding to linens and flowers. Another way to incorporate the season is within the menu.
Including autumn favorites like butternut squash soup or apple cider during cocktail hour will add color and flavor to your guests´ palate. Also, the venue can play a major role in expressing the richness of the season. Rustic locations like barnyards and farms create a full visual effect with your décor and floral arrangements.
Here's to your future!
