ENGAGING THOUGHTS...
From the editor's desk
My very best friend, whom I have known since the third grade, was recently married. No I did not coordinate it, I was a guest. The nuptials were simple, relaxed and filled with family and friends. We had a grand old time as we laughed, eat and reminisced about past and celebrated the future of the new union. What struck me most was her incredible ease and calm throughout the day. I asked her how she could be so relaxed with all the logistics at hand, she said It's simple, I remembered why the day is special and I let that notion guide me in everything I did up to now.
Your wedding is day special and so are you. Therefore, it's special you shouldn't lose friends and break family relations in the process. This is a celebration to commemorate love, life and family. Enjoy it! From bended knee to standing at the altar, the course should be scenic and memorable.
The engagement ring makes you a bride not Wonder Woman, proof that you can't do it all. Clear you plate and delegate, to your groom, friends and extended family members. And yes, hire a wedding planner. A planner’s invaluable advice, expertise and assistance will certainly be useful on the way to the altar.
Here's to your planning!

POPPING THE QUESTION...
Answers to your most perplexing bridal dilemmasQ: For our November wedding my fiancé are on a small budget and we would like to have a cash bar. Is this an acceptable way to stretch our limited budget?
A: Absolutely not! If you want to stretch the budget, cut back in areas such as favors and flowers. Another alternative, by way of cocktails, is to offer beer and wine during cocktail hour and add in a signature drink such as a blushing bride or the more seasonally appropriate Cinna-Hon, a vodka infused cider and cinnamon brew, for your autumn wedding. Finally, you could save by hiring a bartender who mixes fancy nonalcoholic concoctions. No matter what you choose, a cash bar is not a good choice.
