VENDOR SPOTLIGHT
I recently came across M. Avery Designs, a local shop specializing in custom made bridal accessories whose crafty work has been featured in Wedding Channel Magazine and New Jersey Bride. The line carries a bounty of rich fabrics in a variety of vibrant colors from which brides can design their own products. More exciting, the shop holds handbag parties where guests can make their own handbags from an assortment of pre-selected fabrics and colors. To learn more and see samples, log on to their website at www.maverydesigns.com.
After the party, take home your guests thoughts with creative imagery of the Adesso photo albums. Here's how it works: the Adesso album package comes with a Polaroid Instant Camera, a photo album and film. Additional albums, cameras ad other accessories can be ordered as well. The complete package acts as a storytelling device for you and your guest. After taking photos, guests can place their photo in the album and write you a personal message. This is a great crafty tool for weddings, birthday parties, showers and other events. For more information, check out their website by clicking the link below.

ENGAGING THOUGHTS...
From the editor's desk
As Valentine's Day approaches this month, many would be grooms are scrambling to find the right engagement ring and words to go with it. Yes, Valentine's Day is the bookend that closes the so called engagement season. And nervous, but gleeful boyfriends (aka. grooms-in-waiting), take a leap forward from a romantic pass to a hopeful future.
The Roman go Janus, after whom the previous month was named, has two faces, one looking forward and the other looking backward. Janus is said to represent beginnings and endings, doors and gates and transitions. Janus's face looks back to remember all things essential and relevant to the future at which his other face is staring.
As a bride, groom and couple, if the two of you are reading this, Janus is somewhat of a guide as you prepare your wedding and marriage. Remembering the past and its importance to you may play an important role in your wedding scheme and design. In my experience couples have incorporated everything from the location where they first met to childhood experiences in their lives. Anything valuable or memorable to you can be incorporated into personalizing your wedding.
With Janus' forward looking face, you will build your future. As a wedding planner, and not a marriage counselor, there is very little I can do to guide you here, but above all else what will be key is that you maintain an eye on the future the two of you have planned.
Here's to your future!

POPPING THE QUESTION...
Answers to your most perplexing bridal dilemmasQ: My friend is having a destination wedding. I have been invited but can not afford to attend. I have expressed this concern. Do I still have to purchase a gift?
A: Invited are expected to provide a gift for the couple whether or not they attend. With many online registries, you can easily order any gifts from the registry and have it forwarded to the couple at no additional charge. If your friend is someone you have not seen or spoken to in several years and you suspect the invite is a thinly veiled attempt at a free gift, a card congratulating the couple is a suitable alternative.
