VENDOR SPOTLIGHT
Your wedding reception style and design should reflect your personal style and creative nature. Now thanks to a group of smart, savvy, talented and creative Manhattan designers, even table linens illustrate originality. Magnolias Linens, a family operation headed by Anjum Ahmed and her daughters, Asema Asghar and Talaiya Mughal have created an awe inspiring line of luxury linens, chair covers, napkins, and napkin rings decorative candelabras. Working with seamstresses in India, the design team can custom design any style in any color for any event, all at an affordable price. Better still, all designs can be purchased or rented.
The team extraordinarily talented women, gave birth to the this venture when Asghar was planning her own wedding and soon became disappointed with the lack of quality, stylish designs at affordable prices. Asghar, along with her mother and sister set out to design and produce the linens themselves. The end result was a unique production with a beautiful South Asian theme. And the rest is history!

ENGAGING THOUGHTS...
From the editor's desk
Many of my brides come to me looking for a new and exciting way to make their wedding unique. And just as often, I suggest branding/trademarks. Trademarks have always been important in business and industry. A trademark sets the external image of a company and brands that image in the public eye. Think McDonald's and the golden arches or Coca-Cola and the wave. Personal trademarks identify us to others and they give vision of our idea of who we are.As far as weddings go, you can indeed give your wedding a trademark. Take the theme of the wedding and brand it through from the Save the Date cards to the place settings. Say your wedding is a destination wedding on a beach. A great save the date idea could be a sea shell clad postcard. To compliment the theme on the wedding end, hand painted sea shells can be used as favors and/or place settings. Thus the sea shells will act as a brand logo so to speak and create a cohesive theme and trademark throughout the process.
The most important factor you must remember above all else is the purpose of the trademark or branding. It's function is to make your wedding uniquely yours.
Here's to your future!

POPPING THE QUESTION...
Answers to your most perplexing bridal dilemmasQ: For our November wedding my fiancé are on a small budget and we would like to have a cash bar. Is this an acceptable way to stretch our limited budget?
A: Absolutely not! If you want to stretch the budget, cut back in areas such as favors and flowers. Another alternative, by way of cocktails, is to offer beer and wine during cocktail hour and add in a signature drink such as a blushing bride or the more seasonally appropriate Cinna-Hon, a vodka infused cider and cinnamon brew, for your autumn wedding. Finally, you could save by hiring a bartender who mixes fancy nonalcoholic concoctions. No matter what you choose, a cash bar is not a good choice.
