LaTasha
Often described by friends and colleagues as outgoing, bold, and energetic and a true visionary, LaTasha Baker is the founder and creative director of Purple Moon Events. Prior to Purple Moon Events, LaTasha planned weddings and private parties for friends and family. LaTasha has also coordinated several fundraising events for the non profits where she continues to perform volunteer work.LaTasha's professional experience includes fundraising and meeting planning as a member of a campaign for a national election. Subsequent to that she continued her meeting and event planning role as an aide to two members of Congress. Immediately before creating Purple Moon Events, Miss Baker worked in Human Resources for Investment banking where her planning skills were useful in conferences, meeting and employee functions.
She is a proud and active member of the Association of Bridal Consultants and is currently seeking the prestigious designation of Professional Bridal Consultant. This respected organization requires continuing education to ensure that those carrying the ABC designation are knowledgeable on current trends and etiquette. In addition, LaTasha is a member of several networking groups for professional bridal consultants including Coordinator's Corner and the Association for Wedding Professionals International (AFWPI).
LaTasha is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Douglass College of Rutgers University and holds and MA from New York University and was named by the Whitehouse Project as one of twenty Women Leaders of the Future. She is fluent in Spanish and her travels have brought her a breadth of knowledge about world cultures and traditions. On a personal note, LaTasha is a Jeopardy fan and Scrabble enthusiast and enjoys spending time with her Shih Tzu Satchel Paige, who is named for the hall of fame baseball player.
